Can I register if I have not completed a data quality improvement project previously?
Yes. Our project team and Practice Nurse Advisor will provide ongoing virtual support to guide your practice through the process of data-driven quality improvement.
Can I register if I have not completed a clinical audit before?
Yes. Our project team and Practice Nurse Advisor will provide ongoing virtual support to guide your practice through the auditing process.
How many staff have to work on the project?
It’s a good idea to collaborate with your practice team to identify the staff who will participate in the program. If a General Practitioner has all roles, the Terms of Reference only needs to be signed once and noted as GP-led.
How much funding will my practice receive?
All practices who sign up and complete the project requirements will receive a $1,500 Beyond the C program payment. The payment is paid in two instalments, 50% of the payment on completion of the data search and the remaining 50% will be paid on the completion of the project and submission of the post-project survey.
How much time will the practice need to commit?
The project will be completed within a 6 month period. Practices may finish the project in earlier timeframes. The time commitment for the practice depends on several factors including the quality of the practice data and experience with data-driven quality improvement.
What happens with the data I provide?
No identifying data will be recorded for the project. ASHM will provide a standardised reporting template for de-identified data collection. ASHM handles all participant data according to strict internal data handling procedures, with all data stored on secure servers in accordance with Australian privacy legislation.
ASHM takes all reasonable steps to secure personal information. Electronic information is protected by various security measures and access to information and databases is restricted to staff and officers of ASHM by network access controls including password protection, and physical security measures.
ASHM does not have any data stored on its own servers. ASHM engages with reputable providers such as Microsoft, to store all its data. Whilst ASHM has its own security protocols and processes it is also reliant on those of third parties.
ASHM uses various scanning and virus protection techniques to protect the data it holds from malicious attacks. Microsoft’s Advanced Threat Protection is deployed, which includes email scanning, protection against phishing, and automatic scanning of files added to SharePoint. The importance of good email hygiene is regularly communicated to staff to further limit the risk of malicious attacks on our data.
